Select Tool

The select tool gives you the ability to select multiple features on the map by clicking on the features or by drawing an area to select all features within that area.

Overview

The select tool gives you the ability to select multiple features on the map by clicking on the features or by drawing an area to select all features within that area. This tool can be accessed by clicking on the button to open the map toolbar, then by clicking the lasso icon.

Features selected using this tool will be selected in the Results Window, and likewise multiple features selected in the results window will automatically bring up the select tool and highlight the features on the map. Within the results window, you can choose to view only the selected features or all features by clicking on the first button to the right of the results count; the next two buttons will help you to scroll through the results window to the next selected feature(s).

To close the select tool, either deselect all features from the Results Window or click on the close button located to the far right of the select tool.

A shortcut to enable the select tool is to "Ctrl + Click" a second feature once a feature has already been selected on the map

Details Select

Details select enables you to click on features to view that feature's details while the Select Tool is open. Clicking on a feature will not select the feature, but rather pull up the details of the feature that is clicked.

Point Select

Point select is identified by the cursor icon in the button group; it enables you to select multiple features one-by-one on the map.

Area Select

Area select is signified by the draw polygon icon in the button group; it enables you to draw an area on the map to select all features that exist within that area.

Circle Select

Circle select is signified by the draw circle icon in the button group; it enables you to draw a circle to select all features that exist within that given circle area. To draw a circle, click once to create a center point, move your cursor to the desired location, then click again to finish the circle. The on-the-fly measurement that is displayed is the length of the circle radius.
